LOCATION

The ranch has unique location with close proximity to the town of Vanderhoof (6 km away). The ranch borders Ens Road for almost two miles on the south, with the extreme northern line bordering the CN Rail line and the Nechako River for a half-mile.

Vanderhoof

Seven kilometers from the ranch & the geographic center of the province, Vanderhoof is at the junction of Highways 16 and 27 & is a key tourist stop on the path north to the Alaska Highway. With a growing population of 4,700, the community is a regional center with a rich, fertile valley known for its cattle, hay ranches, and dairy farms. It is the province's second-largest forage crop production area. Its' hay is synonomous with quality and ships throughout the province.

Both Nechako Lumber and Canfor-Plateau operate sawmills in the area, as well as an increasing amount of mining activity in the region.

Artemis Gold’s Blackwater project south of Vanderhoof is one of the largest developing mines in Canada. With a 10 million ounce gold resource, they will provide long-term sustainable employment for area residents.

Prince George

Ninety kilometers from the ranch: Prince George, the northern capital of BC is the largest city in northern British Columbia. Situated at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako Rivers and the crossroads of Highways 16 and 97, the city is the service and supply hub for one of the fastest-growing regions in Canada. It plays an essential role in the province's economy and culture.


Over recent decades, Prince George has developed from a mainly forestry-based economy to a healthy natural resource base, supplying goods and services throughout Northern BC, and international markets. Prince George's five largest employment sectors are wholesale and retail trade, health care and social assistance, manufacturing, construction, and accommodation and food services. 

Traditional forestry and forest products manufacturing sectors have evolved to include new markets, innovations, and opportunities such as bioenergy. The mining sector has become one of the fastest growing sectors in the city as businesses capitalize on mineral resources.
